Enjoy the Journey All Week Long
Kindermusik is much more than a weekly class. And your At Home materials you receive from your educator are just the tools you need to continue that one-of-a-kind experience together as a family. While we plant the seeds of learning through music in the classroom, you will use the At Home materials at home to cultivate lifelong learning.

Family involvement in your child’s learning is a fundamental cornerstone of the Kindermusik philosophy because we believe the parent is the child’s most important teacher and the home is the most important place for a child’s learning to take root and grow. After all, there’s no better way to nurture your child’s development – and you’ll love doing it together – every day!

Hickory, Dickory, Tickle and Bounce  is focused on further feeding a baby's language development through the rhythmic nature of nursery rhymes. You and your child will also discover plenty of implied movement activities throughout the semester with many additional movement concepts - like up and down - incorporated into the literature book. Favorite songs and activities from Hickory, Dickory, Tickle and Bounce include Peek-a-boo, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Beat the Drum, Roll That Ball, Sulla Lulla, and The Blackbird

With an introduction to sign language and highlighted by the concept of a family's daily rituals and routines, The Rhythm of My Day is designed to help parents incorporate music into many of the regular routines found throughout their daily life. Lesson focuses also highlight several other key concepts like diversity of sound, stop and go, syncopation, and singing. Favorite activities and songs featured in The Rhythm of My Day include Let Me Call You Sweetheart, Golden Slumbers, Walk All Around and Ally Bally./

FALL 2009 Feathers introduces Baby and Parent/Caregiver to a delightful range of songs, movement activities, object play and vocal play relating to our feathered friends. The Australian Kookaburra, the African Ostrich and many more birds from across the world are featured in songs, dances and poems. Both jazz and classical selections, a Yiddish folk song, a Muskogean melody, and Mother Goose rhymes set to music are just a few of the colorful and exciting pieces introduced in this curriculum.

Do-Si-Do stimulates a wonderfully unique experience of rhythm and movement for Baby and Parent/Caregiver. Movement highlights include a Virginia Reel, a combination Tango, Cha-Cha! and a "move-to-it" poem. Other activities range from chime ball play to instrument exploration and more. Music selections draw from many traditions, including African American, Mexican, Romantic, Scottish, South African and Southeast Asian.

WINTER 2010

Cock-a-Doodle-MOO! explores a farm theme through music, motion and multi-sensory activities. Baby will enjoy the movement of a "hayride," the vocal play and discovery using farm animal sounds (cock-a-doodle-OINK!), and lots of singing activities ranging from classic favorites like Old MacDonald and You Are My Sunshine to a Swedish rhythm song and a beautiful Armenian lullaby.

DewDrops takes Baby and Parent/Caregiver into the middle of a flower garden, seeing the DewDrops glisten in the morning sun and feeling the cool breeze blow, a true multi-sensory experience! Varying styles of music are represented from the lively Celtic dance of the Belfast Hornpipe to the gentle, soothing melody of Scarborough Fair. Whether hammocking, dancing a jig, exploring a drum, singing a lullaby or using a mirror in vocal play activities, Baby and Caregiver can celebrate the joys of music and their special relationship.

FALL 2010

How many ways can Baby and Parent zoom in Kindermusik Village? Hop in the Zoom Buggy! and find out! Through a variety of songs, chants, and instrumental selections you and Baby will experience the rumbling of a baby buggy, the squeaky stroller, the bumpa bumpa bumpa of the wagon, the train chugging up the track and much more.

Baby is the star in Dream Pillow, with each activity carefully planned to stimulate his developing brain, thereby promoting physical, social, cognitive, emotional, and language development. But it is the parent who is watching and guiding this little star on the rise, and Dream Pillow, like all of the Kindermusik Village units, is written with the parent very much in mind.
